Description: This task force, created on 12/1/03, by the Board of County Commissioners, will study the subject of traffic and student safety in the vicinity of Homestead and High School Roads, Chapel Hill, N.C. The need for a multi-governmental task force was noted because of the close proximity of Carrboro and C.H. planning jurisdiction boundaries, as well as O.C. Sheriff enforcement prior to future annexations. The short-term task force will suggest and support acceleration of short and long-range improvements noted in the MPO-TIP for the area. The goal statement elaborating on the above will be determined by the task force.
